"We Express deep anguish and sorrow over killing of six civilians in shelling by Pakistan troops on Civilian population along LoC in Poonch. It as inhuman and unpardonable act," Provincial president of National Conference Devender Singh Rana said late last night.
While visiting the injured at Government Medical College here, Rana said, "the crime of targeting young school children celebrating Independence Day cannot be condoned by the civilized world".
"The Rajouri-Poonch belt has been most affected", he said at the Hospital Complex while regretting over the indifferent attitude of the governments at Centre and in the state towards the suffering dwellers.
He also asked why the people have not been shifted to safer areas keeping in view ever growing shelling.
"Why doesn't BJP at the Centre or in the State even speak a word about the miserable condition of people or take measures to save them from the situation", he said adding "how long shall this continue".
Reiterating the party's stand on "engaging" Pakistan in a meaningful dialogue to end border skirmishes, Rana said that whenever borders hot up, it is the people of Jammu and Kashmir who remained at the receiving end.
Rana also alleged that the BJP was so much intoxicated with power that none of its ministers or leaders found it prudent to visit the suffering people and take necessary measures to shift them to safer areas.
