NCDC disburses record Rs 15,915 cr loan in Apr-Sep

National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed all-time high assistance of Rs 15,915 crore in the first six months of the current 2017-18 fiscal, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said today.
NCDC, which finances projects of different types of cooperatives, had disbursed 25,270 crore in the last fiscal.
Lauding the performance of the NCDC at its 82nd meeting of General Council, Singh said the corporation has achieved a significant growth in releasing financial assistance to the cooperatives in the last three years.
The disbursal during April-September period of this fiscal was at a record 15,915 crore, surpassing the annual target, he said in a statement.

NCDC has maintained a zero level of non performing assets and its loan recovery is more than 99.66 per cent, he added.
Emphasising the role of cooperatives in ensuring remunerative income for farmers, the minister urged them to invest in creating direct supply chain and develop post harvest infrastructure.
Singh also informed that the government has decided to upgrade NCDC Training Institute located at Gurugram (Haryana) as a national level institute and rename it as Laxmanrao Inamdar Academy for Cooperative Studies and Human Resource Management.
