The NCP today"submitted Sharad Pawar's"nomination"to"the returning officer for the election for the party president's post, as organisational elections of the party will be held from tomorrow.
Pawar has been the president of the party since he founded it along with Tariq Anwar and P A Sangma in 1999.
NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said his nomination was submitted to the returning officer (and the party's general secretary) Master Pitambar "on behalf of the party".
Nobody else has filed nomination for the party president's post, NCP sources said.
District unit presidents will be elected on April 22, the state president and Mumbai unit chief of the party will be elected on April 29, while election for the national president's post will be held on May 13, Malik said.
