Pawar made the remarks during a meeting with party's ministers in the state government and senior NCP leaders here, state NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik said.
"The elections are slated for April-May but going by the situation in Andhra, if 25-30 MPs were to resign, the scenarios may change," Malik told PTI.
"Pawar said the party has to prepare for elections, no matter when they are held," he said. "The NCP chief has met Sonia Gandhi and discussed the political situation," he added.
At the meeting held at the official residence of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar in south Mumbai, Pawar reviewed the party's preparations for the elections, party sources said.
