NCPCR's 5-day awareness campaign on child sexual abuse

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has initiated a five-day campaign across Delhi to raise awareness on sexual abuse of children.
The campaign titled 'Jagruk Raho, Chuppi Todo' has been undertaken jointly by Delhi Government and Childline Foundation.
"The awareness campaign is being undertaken in the city around Diwali as during this time children become susceptible to sexual abuses in large gatherings and as parents leave them in the custody of others while taking part in festivities," according to a press statement issued by NCPCR.
Targeting "dark spots" in the city, the campaign aims to sensitise through films, posters and street plays adults as well as children on various forms of harassment.

People are urged to report abuse to the Police, Childline and NCPCR, the statement said.
The Commission has a dedicated POCSO helpline number, 9868235077, and an online complaint management system called 'POCSO e-box' for children to report any cases of sexual assault/abuse or harassment.
The awareness drive was started yesterday and has covered Shahbad Dairy, New Sanjay Amar Colony and Holambi Kalan so far.
