The NDA government has chalked out a detailed communication plan to highlight the work done by it during its first year in office under which several Union ministers will hold interactions and press conferences across the country.
Sources said that ministers will travel to different regions so that the message and work of the government is communicated across length and breadth of the country.
It is likely that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who also holds the I&B portfolio, may hold the first interaction, following which similar interactions will be held by other ministers, they said.
There also have been suggestions related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi possibly holding a 'Mann ki Baat' address on All India Radio on the occasion or a 'talkathon', the sources said adding, a final decision in this regard is, however, yet to be taken.
The I&B ministry is also considering plans to depute publicity vans and exhibitions in 50 to 60 cities to take the government's message to the hinterland, the sources said.
The ministry is also planning to bring out theme-based booklets related to the work done in various domains while the Press Information Bureau could have a separate webpage to the accomplishments during the government's first year, the sources said.
The emphasis has been on the pro-poor, pro-farmer and pro-people measures of the government, they added.
Doordarshan has already begun telecasting a series of special programmes including interviews of Union ministers as part of its intense three-week coverage with focus on reports from the states related to the impact of the government's key schemes and flagship programmes.
The public broadcaster has also lined up several audience-based special shows in various cities like Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Indore, Shillong and Thiruvananthapuram.
