Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today made a scathing attack on the NDA government at the Centre, alleging it was trying to "shut the voice" of the people as "manifested in the JNU incident".
"An effort is being made to shut the voice of people. JNU episode manifests this," he said while addressing a function where he was honoured with K Veeramani award by International Periyar society.
"In the general elections NDA had sought vote in the name of development, but nowadays it is befooling people by raking issues like love Jihad, beef and 'Bharat Mata ki Jai'," the JD(U) leader said.
"What happened to the promise to provide employment," he asked, adding, "None of the promises made by him (PM) has been fulfilled and they remain a mere slogan."
"Stand Up India plan would soon transform into 'Sit Down India' or 'Slip Down India'," Kumar said.
