been apprehended by security forces in Assam's Kokrajhar district today.
Acting on prior information, a joint team of the Army and the Police launched an operation in Gorebil village, and the militant on seeing the security persons, made an attempt to escape, a defence spokesman said.
The security forces nabbed the militant who has been identified as the outfit's self-styled Section Commander Lothen Basumatary alias Birai.
He was wanted by the Police in connection with the December 2014 NDFB attack on adivasi villagers.
A 7.65 mm pistol and some ammunitions have been recovered from his possession, the spokesman added.
