The hardcore militant identified as Elion Daimary alias D Engarlang was killed at Chariduar last night and one pistol, one magazine, four rounds of live ammunition, one motorbike, two mobile sets along with SIM card were recovered from the slain militant, said Sonitpur district Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parasar today.
The militant, who hails from Mazbat Bogoribari village in Udalguri district, was involved in various subversive activities, besides attacking several small tea growers at Rangapara in the district, Parasar said.
An amount of Rs 30,000 was given to Raton's wife and their two children - a one year old daughter and 3-year-old son - were adopted with both of them receiving Rs 2500 per month till they attain 18 years of age, the sources said, adding, his wife was offered a job at the Assam Rifles School at Lokora.
