NDFB(S) militant carrying five lakh reward killed in encounter

An NDFB(S) militant, carrying a reward of Rs five lakh on his head, was killed while another was injured in encounter today at Balisang in Sonitpur district, police said.
According to Sonitpur Superintendent of Police Sanjukta Parasar, the slain terrorist has been identified as G Bigrai, on whom Rs five lakh was announced as reward by Assam Police.
Besides, one more militant was injured in the firing and search operation is going on to find him, the SP said.
Parasar further said police recovered one pistol from the spot.
A joint team of police and CRPF had an encounter with a seven-member gang of the banned NDFB(S).
