NDMC goes strict against illegal mobile towers in Karol Bagh

The wards committee chairman of the Karol Bagh Zone of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation has directed officials to take strict action against unauthorised constructions and illegal mobile towers in the zone, the civic body today said.
At least 126 unauthorised constructions have been reported in Karol Bagh Zone in the last 50 days, Chairman, Wards Committee of Karol Bagh Zone Rajesh Bhatia said.
All engineers in the Zone have been instructed to take strict actions against any such violations, he said in a statement released by the NDMC today.
Illegal constructions were removed in seven of the already flagged properties and 37 properties where constructions were ongoing, it said.
Twenty-one properties where it was not possible to remove constructions were sealed and 35 properties were issued notice as commercial activity was going on there in violation of the usage law.
Meanwhile, 514 properties where constructions are going on in violation of the building bylaws have been issued stop-work notice, it said.
According to the statement, only 287 out of the 581 mobile towers in Karol Bagh Zone are legal. And, 162 towers have been booked as unauthorised.
Show cause notice has been issued to owners of 133 mobile towers. Twenty-nine towers have also been sealed, it said.
