"Hotel Leela Palace has not cleared property tax dues worth Rs 17 crore. We have today ordered their bank account to be attached," a senior NDMC official said.
The Leela Palace, a luxury hotel, is located in diplomatic enclave area of Chanakyapuri.
The civic body has also taken action against two other hotels for not clearing license fee dues.
The two defaulters - Hotel Asian International and Hotel Connaught, located in central Delhi, had not paid license fees dues amounting to Rs 56 crore and Rs 130 crore respectively.
The hotels were not immediately available for comment.
According to NDMC rules, the civic agency charges an annual licence fee on the properties given on lease.
"The license fees is charged in the cases where land and building is owned by NDMC. But these hotels have not been paying licence fee regularly, which has resulted in a huge loss to the agency," he added.
