The governor said he had the opportunity to exchange thoughts with Upadhyay and listen to him when he used to visit Mumbai in the capacity of general secretary of the Jan Sangh, the BJP forerunner.
"I have seen many aspects of his life," Naik said paying tributes to the Hindutva icon at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Smritika on his birth centennary, according to an official press statement issued by the Raj Bhavan here.
Naik said Upadhyay was a simple human being but he used to put forth his views very effectively.
