NEERI to hold seminar on molecular imprinting from tomorrow

The city-based National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) has organised a three-day Indo-UK seminar on 'Molecular Imprinting: Strategies, Applications and Future Perspectives' which will be inaugurated tomorrow.
Molecular imprinting technology has attracted many scientists around the world as it has novel applications in medical and environmental science, Director of NEERI, Dr S R Wate, said in a release today.
"Therefore, this seminar has been organised with a view to provide the state-of-the-art information on the latest developments and best practices related to molecular imprinting for mitigating environmental pollution (air, water, waste water pollution, etc) and treatment of various diseases," he said in the release.
Scientists and academicians actively working in the area of molecular imprinting in the UK and India are taking part in this seminar.
NEERI is working on molecular imprinting to combat environmental pollution. Dr R J Krupadam, scientist, CSIR-NEERI, presently working on molecularly imprinted polymers, is the convener of the seminar.
The seminar will go on till February 7.
Prof Michael J Whitcombe, Leicester University, UK; Prof Ian A Nichollas, Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor, Linnaeous University, Sweden; and Prof Yerramilli Anjaneyulu, Jackson State University, USA will be present at the inaugural function, the release said.
