Negi elected Himachal Assembly Deputy Speaker

Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi was unanimously elected Deputy Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha today.
The name of Singh, who represents tribal Kinnaur seat in the House, was proposed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and seconded by Irrigation and Public Health Minister Vidya Stokes and Forest minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri.
He was declared elected to the post by Speaker B B L Butail amid slogan shouting by BJP members.
Negi was elected legislator for the fist time from Kinnaur in 1993. He was re-elected in 2003 and '12.
