On a day when everyone struggled against gusty winds and a sudden drop in temperature, Neha Tripathi carded six over 78 to maintain the lead in the second round of the 1st leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour here today.
Trailing her in second position is Amandeep Drall, with a total score of 151 after 36 holes in the INR 6,00,000 event, which will culminate tomorrow.
Kolkata's Neha would have hoped for a better performance as she carded a birdie less front nine, while dropping a shot on the 6th hole. The back nine was a similar script, with no birdies and bogeys on the 10th, 13th, 17th with a double on the 18th.
Panchkula's Amandeep carded the lone birdie in her front nine on the 3rd hole. She dropped a shot on the 4th while carding a double on the 9th. In her back nine she carded birdies on the 12th and 18th holes, which however, were neutralised by a triple on the 14th. She thus had to be content with the second spot, two shots adrift of Neha with a score of 151 after the second round.
Gurgaon's Gaurika Bishnoi carded seven over 79 to take the third place. She carded two double bogeys on the 2nd and 3rd holes, while the lone birdie of her round came on the 9th. She made a string of errors on the 11th, 13th, 14th and 15th holes.
Kapurthala's Gursimar Badwal finished the day in fourth position with a total score of 159. She carded two birdies on the 3rd and 5th holes, while dropping shots on the 4th, 8th, 9th, 12th and 17th. She also carded double bogeys on the 10th, 16th and 18th holes with a triple on the 7th.
Kolkata's Siddhi Kapoor is placed fifth after 36 holes with a total score of 160. She is followed by another Kolkata girl Smriti Mehra in sixth position with a score of 161 and Chandigarh's Saaniya Sharma in seventh at 168.
