The incident was reported from Malviya Nagar and the accused Vijay, a labourer, has been arrested.
The girl was alone when the incident took place. Her parents had gone out for work.
The incident came to light when a neighbour spotted the victim crying outside the house.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape.
A case has been registered.
