The 35-year-old "District 9" director took to Instagram to share a concept art for the project which features Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley and Michael Biehn reprising his role as Corporal Hicks, his character in James Cameron's "Aliens" (1986), reported Ace Showbiz.
"#alien going very well. Love this project," Blomkamp captioned the picture.
Blomkamp revealed earlier this year that he would direct the new "Alien" movie which is separate from the "Prometheus" sequel.
He said in February that his movie would ignore "Alien 3" and "Alien: Ressurection".
