New born girl found dumped in garbage bin

A new born girl was found dumped in a garbage bin near the Mariamman temple tank here today, police said.
A passer-by heard the cries of the baby and informed a child helpline official, who rushed to the spot and admitted the child in a private hospital, they said.
Investigations are on to trace the mother of the child, police said.
