New commander for Mangaluru Coast Guard

Deputy inspector general K R Suresh has taken over charge as the new commander of number 3 Coast Guard District (Karnataka) at Panambur here, a release from the Coast Guard headquarters said today.
Suresh, an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, is the 14th commander of the unit. He belongs to the eighth batch of direct entry officers and joined the Indian Coast Guard in January, 1987.
In his career spanning over 28 years, Suresh has held various important posts both at sea and headquarters. Suresh has also commanded Coast Guard Station Mandapam, an important Coast Guard post in Tamil Nadu, the release said.
