New West Zone IG takes over

K Shankar today assumed charge as I G of Police, West Zone, covering eight districts.
He took over from Davidsaon Devashirvatham, who was transferred and posted as IG (Administration), Chennai.
Shankar was Joint Commissioner, Chennai before his new assignment in the city, where he had worked as Deputy Commissioner, Law and Order in 2,000, a press relese said.
