The incident occured this morning when the overloaded truck carrying the sand was crossing the bridge over Quari river, Superintendent of Police (SP) Bhind, Dr Vineet Khanna said.
The bridge was constructed nearly a year ago and traffic on it had started about six months back. It allegedly collapsed due to the weight of the truck and its portion came down crashing along with the truck which was on its way to Etwah.
Because of the bridge collpase, the connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh got disrupted leading to traffic jam on both sides of the river.
Further probe is on in the matter.
