National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) has announced its first ever 'Romance Screenwriters' Lab', which will be held on the sidelines of the forthcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
NFDC officials said that the lab would focus on developing scripts based on romance and "women centric" plots.
"The lab will be held in three stages and participants will be mentored by three eminent people from the Indian film industry," the NFDC website said.
The event will be held from November 20 to November 24, 2014 near the IFFI venue.
The IFFI is scheduled to be held from November 20 to November 30 in Goa.
The NFDC has associated itself with the Toronto-based Harlequin, the world's leading publisher of romantic novels for women.
"Harlequin will enter into an exclusive book deal with selected script writers at the lab," officials said.
