Nickel eases on reduced offtake, global cues

Nickel prices slipped by Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today due to reduced offtake by consuming industries amid a weak global trend.
However, other base metals moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said reduced offtake by consuming industries and a weak global trend mainly kept pressure on nickel prices.
Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months fell 0.6 per cent to USD 11,435 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) fell by Rs 3 to Rs 977-982 per kg.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 114-120, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 977-982, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 402, Chadri deshi Rs 285.
Lead ingot Rs 108, Lead imported Rs 109, Aluminium ingots Rs 156, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 157, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 159 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 156.
