However, tin slipped on stockist selling following subdued offtake from consumer industries.
Globally, the industrial metal copper edged higher in early trade but stayed near four-week lows after weak US factory growth dragged on the dollar, easing pressure on commodity prices.
Nickel shot-up by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 975 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 960.
Copper utensils scrap climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 410 as against Rs 405 yesterday.
Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper wire bar, and zinc inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 443, Rs 429, Rs 463 and Rs 180, respectively.
While, tin fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,275 as compared to Rs 1,280 previously.
