Traders said sentiments dampened after base metals fell in global markets before data on Wednesday that may show China's economy expanded at the weakest pace since 2009.
Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months lost 3 per cent to USD 11,395 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) prices traded lower Rs 5 to Rs 965-970 per kg.
