Police have arrested a 43-year- old Nigerian national for allegedly supplying cocaine to people here.
The accused, Bartholomew, was arrested on June 13 from north-west Delhi's Model Town-I and 120 gram of fine-quality cocaine, worth Rs 10 lakh in Indian market, was seized from him, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajesh Deo.
Police received a tip-off about the accused coming to supply cocaine to someone near Valmiki Mandir, Model Town-I. A trap was laid and the Nigerian national was nabbed.
During interrogation, he said that he used to sell and supply cocaine after obtaining it from his brother-in-law Frank, who is based in South Africa, said the officer.
He had come to Delhi in 2008 to study Business Administration. He is married and has two children back home. In order to help his family, he started dealing in drugs for quick money.
