Nine injured in blast in Pakistan

At least nine persons, including two officials of the bomb disposal squad, were injured on Wednesday after explosives fitted to a cylinder exploded in northwest Pakistan, police said.

The incident occurred in Azakhel area of Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The incident happened when the bomb disposal squad was trying to neutralise the explosives fitted to the cylinder that was lying close to a house.

The two squad officials injured in the incident are stated to be critical, hospital authorities said.
