While six persons were killed when their SUV collided with a mini-truck near Sarodhi bridge, three youths died after the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a truck which was parked near a sugar factory on the highway.
According to police, the collision occurred apparently after the driver of the SUV lost his control over the vehicle, which jumped a road divider before landing in opposite lane.
"In his complaint, tempo driver Parasmal claimed the SUV suddenly came on the other side of the road after jumping the divider at around 7 AM. Before Parasmal could do anything, both vehicles collided, killing all the six persons in the car," said Valsad Rural police sub inspector P K Patel.
The youths killed in the collision between bike and parked truck have been identified as Mubarak Ali Chaudhary, Sharafat Ali Chaudhary and Sajan Ali Chaudhary--all residents of Valsad.
"The accident occurred when one of the youths driving the bike failed to see the parked truck and rammed into it from behind, killing all of them. We have lodged a case and started investigating further," said Valsad Rural Police Station Officer Mahendrabhai.
