Nine members of notorious gang arrested in UP

Uttar Pradesh STF today arrested nine members of a notorious gang of kidnappers who had kidnapped a doctor couple belonging to Gaya, from Gomti Nagar area here.
The criminals led by their leader Ajay Singh and his eight associates were arrested by STF, in a joint operation with Bihar police, from Sharda Apartments where they used to keep the hostages and recovered police uniforms, two cars, and other goods used by them, DGP UP, A K Jain said.
"The DGP of Bihar police had contacted me on May 4 after which a team led by SP Gaya, Rakesh, had arrived here and the operation was carried out today," the DGP said.

Ajay Singh is a notorious criminal who has been active in Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan since 1995, the DGP added.
