Addressing a meeting on the occasion of the 6th Farmer's Day in Aizawl, Liansailova said the success rate of NLUP was higher in rural areas.
He said some modifications were made to suit the present situation in the implementation of the policy.
Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla also exhorted the farmers to work hard to attain self-sufficiency in food production, "as no one can be respectable without being self-sufficient."
Lal Thanhawla said the government has been striving for elevating the present state of economy.
