"Alliance in these municipal bodies could not be reached after TC offered minuscule number of seats", state Congress president Pradip Bhattacharya told reporters here.
He alleged that the TC was trying to terrorise their workers and it was experienced today when Congress worker Manoj Pandey was kidnapped for a while and an attempt was made to snatch away his nomination papers and other documents meant for Haldia municipal body election.
These were done allegedly by TC workers, he said.
"There were also reports of threat for our workers and we expect the administration will assist us to contest and I do not think there will be a rerun of situation created by the Left Front earlier", he added.
Asked about an alliance for the panchayat elections, he said, it had not yet been decided.
