A tough battle is on cards between ruling PDP candidate Mufti Tassaduq Hussain and state Congress chief G A Mir.
"All seven nomination papers files during the prescribed time limit were found valid during scrutiny," an election official said.
The other candidates in fray are Sanjay Kumar Dhar of Rashtriya Samajwadi Party (S), Ghulam Mohammad Wani of All J&K Kissan Mazdoor Party, and Independent candidates Rakesh Koul, Sajjad Ahmad Dar and Mohammad Yaseen Paswal.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature isMarch 29 while polling will be held on April 12.
