Nomination papers of two independent candidates from Karnataka for the June 19 Rajya Sabha polls were rejected after scrutiny today.
The papers of K Padmarajan and K A Mohan were found invalid for want of proposals, Karnataka Assembly Secretary P Omprakasha, who is also the returning officer, said.
AICC General Secretary B K Hariprasad and party spokesman Rajiv Gowda, Prabhakar Kore (BJP) and Kupendra Reddy (JDS) are in the fray now for four seats, which will ensure their election unopposed.
The official declaration about election would be made on June 12, the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
