The Safdarjung observatory, recording of which is considered the official, registered a maximum temperature of 38.1 degrees, a notch below the season's average.
The Palam observatory recorded a maximum of 39.4 degrees Celsius, while areas under Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar recorded a maximum temperature of 38.6, 39.2 and 38.2 degrees Celsius respectively, a MeT department official said.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 22.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the normal, he added.
Humidity levels oscillated between 68 and 25 per cent.
"The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 38 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively," the official said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.2 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 23 degrees Celsius.
