'Not against Jat reservation, but shouldn't be a loss to OBC'

BJP MP from Kurukshetra Raj Kumar Saini today said that he was not against Jat reservation, but it cannot be done at the cost of loss to Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
Replying to a question, Saini told reporters here that he was not against Jat reservation but it cannot be at the cost of loss of quota to OBCs or any other community.
Saini, who in April had threatened to resign from Parliament over the issue, sounded a warning to his own party.
He said that if BJP tries to appease Jat community by tampering with OBC quota "it would meet the same fate as that of the Congress" in the last Lok Sabha and assembly elections.

Notably, Jats have also been seeking reservation in government jobs and educational institutions.
When asked to rate the performance of the Manohar Lal Khattar government in Haryana, which completes one year in office in three weeks, Saini gave five out of 10 marks.

He, however, quickly added that this was just the beginning and the BJP being a principle party will meet the expectations of people in subsequent years.
On the 7th pay commission, the BJP MP feared it may widen "disparity" between the employees of private and public sectors.
Citing an example, he claimed that while a Class IV employee in the private sector earns from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, his counterpart in the government sector gets three to four times more.
