Not interested in taking over complaint against CM office: CBI

CBI today informed Kerala High Court that it was not interested in taking over a probe related to a complaint filed against the office of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy by a Bangalore-based industrialist in one of the cases connected to the solar scam.
The submission in this regard was made by CBI counsel Chandarsekhara Pillai while considering the amendment petition filed by industrialist MK Kuruvilla seeking a CBI probe.
Earlier, Kuruvilla had sought a Crime Branch inquiry through a writ petition, which the government had eventually ordered.
Meanwhile, Kuruvilla has been arrested and being held in custody over allegations of cheating in some other cases.

Following the above developments, he had informed court he wanted a CBI probe in light of the petition filed by him in which he had alleged that the CM's relatives and staff were involved in the solar scam.
Subsequent to filing of the petition, six cases were slapped against Kuruvilla and he was arrested and put behind bars.

Justice VK Mohanan adjourned the case till after the vacations for further consideration.
Meanwhile, the government filed a writ appeal against the order of a single judge prohibiting further arrest of Kuruvilla in connection with the Pan Asia Forex cases.
The court had also permitted Kuruvilla to amend the plea to incorporate a prayer for a CBI probe into his complaint against the office of the Chief Minister and his relatives.
