Irrespective of the position Anant Trivedi secures in the half marathon run on February 5 here, he would find Kavita Batra waiting for him at the finishing line with a wedding garland.
Trivedi (31), an engineer, who owns a restaurant in Bengaluru had got an invitation to participate in the 8th AU Jaipur half marathon. As his wedding date was clashing with that of the half marathon, the couple decided to exchange garlands at the finish line.
"I and my fiance both are runners. She cannot participate at the marathon due to an injury. We decided to exchange garlands at the finish line. It will also be message for the society to run for good health," Trivedi told PTI.
A total of 25 close friends of the couple will be present at the at half marathon to be privy to it. The couple will then tie the nuptial knot as per hindu tradition the same day in Kota from where Trivedi belongs to.
