A notification on the Kairana Lok Sabha bypoll was issued by the district administration today.
District Election Officer Inder Vikam Singh said the last date for filing of nomination for the bypoll was May 10.
"Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be taken up on May 11, while the last date of withdrawal of the same is May 14," he said.
The official added that a model code of conduct has been imposed in the area.
The bypolls to the Kairana Lok Sabha and Noorpur Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be held on May 28, an election office spokesperson had said.
Counting of votes for both the constituencies will be held on May 31, he said.
The Kairana LS seat fell vacant after the death of BJP MP Hukum Singh in February. The parliamentary constituency, with nearly 16 lakh voters, consists of five assembly segments - Shamli, Thanabhawan, Kairana, Gangoh and Nakur.
