Notorious dacoit held in Raj

A notorious dacoit having cash reward of Rs 16,000 on his head, has been arrested in district Bharatpur, Rajasthan police said today.
Following a tip-off, a police team encircled a gang of criminals, who were planning to execute a robbery, on a road near Tarsuma village last night, a press release quoting Bharatpur Superintendent of Police Rahul Prakash here said.
When the police challenged them to surrender, they opened fire, he said adding that exchange of fire followed but five criminals managed to escape in ravines, though, one notorious dacoit Ramveer (38) was held.
The accused fired 15 rounds on the police party, he said.

One 315 bore rifle along with six live cartridges were also recovered from Ramveer who has a cash reward of Rs 16,000 (Rs 10,000 by Gwalior police, Rs 5000 by Agra police and Rs 1000 by Dholpur police) on head, the SP said.
