"An inquiry is being conducted (into the NRHM scam) and the truth will come out," he said in a reply to a reporter's question after taking oath as member of the Vidhan Parishad.
Akhilesh said the CBI was probing the matter and several people, including the then ministers and officials, were being quizzed.
Asked whether former Chief Minister Mayawati would come into the inquiry net, he said the truth would come out soon.
Health Minister Ahmad Hasan said Mayawati had also held the portfolio of the Family Welfare Department.
"Whatever decision was taken it was taken from the fifth floor of the annexe (housing the CM's office). Even former minister Babu Singh Kushwaha told many things to the CBI," he told reporters.
"A few ministers and officials are in jail and a few are not. The inquiry should be conducted expeditiously," Hasan said.
