"The National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) has fixed a target of total business of Rs 24,000 crore through its various schemes and services like raw material supply, raw material finance, B2B, B2C and its technical centres etc for facilitating micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the country," MSME Minister of State Giriraj Singh said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
On the question of whether the digital and defence initiatives of the government were likely to give a boost to the country's MSME sector, Singh said: "Government in the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has taken several initiatives... NSIC also organises defence exhibitions, MSME buyer-seller meets, vendor development programmes to build an MSME database and facilitating supplies from MSMEs to obtain and execute defence orders."
