A nurse from Udupi district, who was working at a hospital in Saudi Arabia for the last six years, died in the Gulf nation under mysterious circumstances, according to information received by her family.
Hazel Jothsna Quadros (28) last spoke to her husband Ashwin Mathias on July 19, the family said.
Two days later, her co-worker informed Mathias about her death giving no other details, they said.
He contacted Ivan DSouza, MLC, and Raghupathi Bhat, Udupi MLA, seeking their help.
They, in turn, got in touch with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who has promised to raise the matter with Saudi Arabia, the family said.
