The Rajasthan Nurses Association (RNA) and Rajasthan Student Nurses Association (RSNA) alleged that about one lakh trained nursing students were unable to find a job in the state, and the state government was doing nothing to fill the vacancies in government hospitals.
About 20,000 nursing students graduate every year from 400 nursing schools and colleges run by the government and private institutions, but no new jobs have been created so far to meet the demand, Mithlesh Tank, Secretary of RSNA and Sahshikant Sharma, Chairman of RNA said here.
Besides, there were 7000 seats in GNM Courses, but the state government filled up only 2500, and remaining seats were being filled up by private nursing federation, the duo said.
No new nursing colleges were required, while the need of the hour was to fill up the existing vacancies and provide jobs to unemployed nursing students, they added.
