NVIDIA offers $150,000 grant for social, humanitarian sols

IT firm NVIDIA has announced a Global Impact Award, a new annual grant of USD 150,000 for work that addresses social and humanitarian problems.
The grant will be awarded to an institution or a researcher, which is using NVIDIA technology to achieve breakthrough results, having broader impact on society, it said in a statement.
This includes, but is not limited to, the areas of disease research, drug design and development, medical imaging, energy and fuel efficiency, weather prediction, natural disaster response and cyber security, it added.

Vdopia appoints Ajay Prakash Mishra as APAC Director Ops * Online and mobile services provider Vdopia today said it has appointed Ajay Prakash Mishra as Director - Operations for the APAC region.
At Vdopia, Mishra will be responsible for quantitative and qualitative analysis to support APAC's campaign portfolio, shape strategy and identify solutions to business and operational challenges, it said in a statement.
Previously he was with xAd, a location-based mobile ad platform.

Oracle announces 'Internet of Things' developer challenge * Software maker Oracle today announced a global challenge, the Internet of Things (IoT) Developer Challenge, which is open for entries till May 30 this year.
The challenge will reward Java developers who create outstanding applications using Oracle's Java-embedded technologies with devices, boards and other IoT technologies, it said in a release.
The firm is offering the 12 winners of the challenge a trip to JavaOne in San Francisco and will get the chance to meet Java experts from Oracle and different parts of the world, it added.

Reva launches beauty clinic in capital
* Reva has launched its first beauty and aesthetics clinic in the capital and is planning to have another one at Chandigarh.
The company is looking at Punjab and other tourist spots such as Goa and Jaipur for business expansion.
"As a future vision, Reva is a stepping stone towards a 7 star luxury medi spa resort in one of India's tourists' captive city," Reva CEO Jaz Brar told PTI.
