"The president looks forward to discussing with prime minister Netanyahu the progress on final status negotiations with the Palestinians as well as development in Iran, Syria, and elsewhere in the region," White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney, told reporters yesterday at his daily news conference.
Earlier, after completing talks with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Syria, US Secretary of State John Kerry flew to Israel to hold talks with Netanyahu, which lasted several hours.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed that there would be no meeting between Obama and the new Iranian President.
