OCA welcomes IOA's move, informs about bid documents

The Olympic Council of Asia today welcomed India's expression of interest to host the 2019 Asian Games and informed the Indian Olympic Association about the documents required to submitted for mounting a bid.
In reply to IOA's letter of expression to bid for 2019 Asian Games sent on June 20, the OCA today wrote back enumerating the documents required to be submitted by India.
"It is a very welcome initiative from the IOA which the OCA whole-heartedly welcomes. However, the IOA will be required to submit the following official documents along with the Letter of Intent in order for the OCA to consider the bid complete," OCA Director General Husain Al Musallam said in the letter addressed to IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta.
The documents required for mounting the official bid are:
Letter from Chief Minister or Lt Governor of Delhi supporting the bid as per the OCA constitution, letter from the Minister of Sports Central Government supporting the bid, Cabinet approval for IOA's bid, letter of full support from the leader of majority party, letter of full support from the leader of opposition party, letter of guarantee on tax exemption of Marketing/Games Revenue, letter of assurance on waiver of customs duties for Asian Games, letter of confirmation on opening of a bank account outside India with regard to Marketing Revenues, letter of confirmation on the distribution of marketing revenues 50 per cent for OCA and 50 per cent for Local Oraganising Committee of the Asian Games, letter of Guarantee on the PR Campaign for USD 15 million, letter on refundable deposit of USD 2 million as guarantee deposit against cancellation of the Games, letter of allocation of USD 30 million to the OCA broadcast services for host Broadcast of the Games.
The IOA top brass is expected to approach the Central as well as Delhi government in the next few days.
Mehta had told PTI that IOA would approach the government after the OCA informs it about the required documents so that the official bid can be submitted before July 1 deadline.
