The mercury fell to 38.4 degrees Celsius from 40.6 degrees recorded yesterday in Bhubaneswar, the Meteorological Centre here said.
Apart from Titlagarh in west Odisha, Balangir recorded a maximum temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius, it said in a bulletin.
