Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the announcement after his meeting with a section of the agitating workers at the state secretariat today.
"The anganwadi workers would now get Rs 6000 per month, mini-anganwadi workers Rs 4125. The anganwadi helpers would be getting Rs 3000 per month," Patnaik announced.
They were given around 50 per cent hike on their monthly honorarium, a government official said.
The chief minister said his government always prioritised the interests of anganwadi workers as they played a significant role in the healthcare sector.
