Odisha Police takes AQIS suspect operative on remand

A Cuttack court today allowed Odisha police to take Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) operative Mohammed Abdur Rehman on a 10-day remand.
The Special Task Force of Crime Branch took Rehaman (37) into custody for interrogation after he was produced amid tight security at the judicial magistrate first track court at Salepur in Cuttack.
Rehman, who was lodged at Tihar Jail in Delhi, was brought to Cuttack on remand.
He was arrested from Tangi in Cuttack on December 16 last year in a joint operation by Odisha Police and Delhi Police while he was running a madrassa at Tangi.
